Adobe finally released its software which now removed completely the DigiNotar certificates from their Approved Trust List (AATL). Despite the fact that Adobe released a few day ago detailed instructions how to manually remove the certificate, we strongly suggest to all readers to install the latest Adobe version available for their platform. This can be done via the built-in automatic updates or by manually downloading and installing the version from the adobe.com website.
The new versions of Reader and Acrobat also close several critical security vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities could cause the application to crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.
We recommend users of older Adobe Reader versions for Windows and Macintosh to update to Adobe Reader X 10.1.1.
Microsoft released also 15 security updates as part of the September update.
The affected software are all versions of Windows for Desktop and Server and all versions of Microsoft Office. Since the updates are rated as “important”, it is strongly advisable to update your software.
