Just after Christmas Google decided to make the life harder for all spammers who misuse the free email accounts offered by Google.
GMail introduced a new security challenge which is meant to improve security when creating an email account: Validation via a SMS (short text message on a mobile phone).
I am glad that Google is thinking at security, really. But I honestly doubt that this will improve the security so much considering the fact that most of the mobile providers offer now phone SIM cards for free.
